Cretaceous-Tertiary granitic and metamorphic rocks of the adjoining area of the northern Dinarides and Pannonian Mass
Abstract
The paper deals with geology and petrology of granites and associated metamorphic rocks stretching in the zone Bukulja-Cer-Motajica- Moslavačka Gora in the adjoining area of the northern Dinarides and Pannonian Mass. The granites and metamorphic rocks of the zone have been treated through many decades, but without any evidence, as Precambrian to Hercynian in age. In the paper are presented isotopic data which point to their Cretaceous to Tertiary age. Rocks of the granite association include varieties of granite, granodiorite, quartz monzonite, quartz diorite and gabbro. The associated metamorphic rocks are represented by varieties of gneiss, micaschist and amphibolite of the Abukum- type. It is presumed that the Cretaceous-Tertiary rocks of the granite association and the associated metamorphic rocks represent superficial relics of an ancient magmatic are and that they originated close to subduction zone along which was consumed the Mesozoic oceanic crust o the Dinaridic part of the Tethys.Downloads
