Abstract

The paper deals with greenschists sensu lato of Mt. Zagrebačka Gora (or Medvednica) which can be grouped into: metadiabases, greenschists s. str. with subordinate stilpnomelan epidote and sericite schists, and amphibolites. Most of the rocks are basic, and based on major and trace element contents, and CIPW norms they display a distinct tholeiitic affinity. On the basis of immobile trace elements it is presented a discussion on possible protoliths of greenschists and their geotectonic setting of formation.
