Crinoids from Tithonian-Valanginian beds east of Vrsnik (Julian Alps)
Abstract
In the paper the results of investigations of crinoids in the Julian Alps are presented. Besides the genera Phyllocrinus, Apsidocrinus and Balanocrinus is especially important the finding of the small planktonic crinoid Saccocoma tenella (Goldfuss), which occurs in a bed of the lower part of the Tithonian- Valanginian limestone in such abundance that it forms together with tiny aptychi a lumachelle.
