Search for organic parameters of the Tertiary sedimentary rocks in the eastern Slovenia. An attempt

Abstract

The study of the formation and occurrence of oil and gas in eastern Slovenia was undertaken during the years 1981 to 1983. The attempt was not successful due to many difficulties. Results of optical, Chemical, and mineralogical analysis carried out on well core samples are presented. It appears that the organic matter form the Lower Miocene sedimentary rocks is at the outset of the metagenesis in the parts where geothermal gradient is high. Other organic parameters indicate that the Lower Miocene beds in north-eastern Slovenia can be reasonably considered as a possible source rock.
