Abstract

L. Placer raises objections on the hypothesis made by U. Premru & T. Dimkovski to explain the control of the distribution of ore minerals and heavy minerals by the ring structure of Škofja Loka. His reason is based on a simple model of the gravitational overthrusting which is, however not proper model for this case. L. Placer can not to refuse to recognize the most important evidence, i. e. characteristic features in the distribution of the ore and heavy minerals in relation to the ring structure. A model based on the displacements of recumbent folds appears to be more suitable for explanations. According to this model, the origin of the ring structure is closely connected with a deep-seated rigid rock body, the position of which did not change very much in comparison with the Žiri and Krim—Žiri overthrusts from late Paleozoic to recent time.
