Microfauna of Middle and Upper Triassic in Slovenia and its biostratigraphic significance

Abstract

Total isolated microfauna from 24 Middle and Upper Triassic localities in Slovenia was studied in detail. Individual species of conodont genera Neogondolella, Epigondolella and Pseudofurnishius are excellent index fossils on basis of which nine conodont zones and one subzone were established. For the area of Slovenia here for the first time the definition of recognized conodont zones is given. The studied localities belong to the Dinaric and Sephardic conodont provinces of the Tetyan-Pacific realm. In paper totally 48 taxa of radiolarians, ostracods, holothurians, conodonts, fish scales and 16 types of sponge spicules are described. Most of the presented taxa are first finds one the territory of Yugoslavia.
