Sea urchin Amblypygus dilatatus from Lower Eocene limestone in the Griža quarry in the Rižana river valley, Western Slovenia

Abstract

In paper irregular sea urchins of species Amblypygus dilatatus Agassiz & Desor, 1847 and accompaying foraminifer remains are considered. Ali of them were found in Lower Eocene - Cuisian limestones in the Griža quarry in the Rižana river valley. This is the first find of this species of sea urchins in Slovenia. The age of limestone was determined with nummulitinas.
