Quartz sand and gravel from Goričko Prekmurje
Abstract
In Goričko Prekmurje (Slovenia, NW Yugoslavia) important deposits of quartz sand and gravel from the Upper Pliocene are known. The quartz sand and gravel build tops of hills in a thickness of about 30 m. Smaller secondary deposits occur in a Pleistocene terrace which extends about 20 km in the westerly direction having the width of 0.5 to 2.5 km. Sand and gravel are used in industry, filtering of water and in building.
