Abstract

A critical review is given of the paper that appeared in the GEOLOGIJA 24/1 1981 pp 61—71 on the ring structure of Škofja Loka written by U. Premru & T. Dimkovski. In discussing the origin of the ring structure attention must be largely confined to its position in the overthrust structure of central Slovenia and to the pre-thrusting geological features. The latter can, however, hardly be restored as no mutual relationships between thrust units have so far been defined exactly. That is why the relations of the structure to the distribution of the sedimentary ore minerals are not explained correspondingly. An attempt is made by the reviewer to illustrate this remark by the position of the uranium ore deposit of Žiri vrh in the course of tectonic development.
