Case studies on paleolimnology

Abstract

Using pigment analytical and geochemical investigations of cores from different types of lakes and facially different limnic sediments, partially from prequarternary deposits, the following statements of question are inquired: enviromental geology, biological production, climatology and paleoecology. The diversity and the reasons of qualitative and quantitative occurence of pigments is emphasized. Especially stressed are anthropogenic and climatological influences and their interactions during the younger postglacial period, as well as ecologic/geological factors.
