Abstract

In paper the first documented find of a Paleogene xenophora in Slovenia is described. Preserved is its cast in Lower Oligocene biocalcarenite from surroundings of Poljšica in the Upper Carniola. On the basis of inspection of morphological characteristics of the find and of comparison with finds of neighbouring xenophoras of same age from the common sedimentation regions of Tethys and of the incipient Paratethys it is presumed that our individual could belong to the species Xenophora cumulans or X. agglutinans.
