Val Gardena Formation in surroundings of Škofja Loka (Slovenia)

Abstract

In addition to data on structure of Val Gardena Formation and new views about tectonic structure of Paleozoic areas in surroundings of Škofja Loka all available data on uranium and copper mineralization in the area were summarized. Rocks of Val Gardena Formation occur in several overthrust units, but in the same development as at Žirovski vrh. The most important is the view that mineralization in Brebovnica (U, Cu) and Hobovše members (Cu) is associated with a mobile zone within the Middle Permian sedimentation basin.
