Abstract

In the frame of formational reconnaissance the basic data on Val Gardena Formation in the Podkum-Vrhovo area were summarized. A development almost identical to that in western Slovenia was indicated. At the same time the subdivision of Middle Permian beds suggested new views on tectonic structure of the Radeče region. Special attention was devoted to the red-bed type copper mineralization. Concordant ore bodies occur in lenses of grey clastites between the red clastites, and they are found in various parts of the stratigraphic column in a range of about 600 meters. Potential of the region for Pb, Zn and U remains undefined.
