Distribution of the bivalve species Tanchintongia ogulineci in Velebit
Abstract
Tanchintongia ogulineci was determined 1978 from the 2nd limestone zone of the Permian Velebit carbonate series. Beside the type locality some other occurrences were found now in the same rock as well as in a dark gray, white-dotted dolomite variety. The limestone belongs to the Upper Kungurian stage, while the stratigraphic range of the dolomite is Upper Artinskian-Lower Kungurian. Different fossiliferous zones could be distinguished in the dotted dolomite. A sponge-reef and a new brachiopod occurrence have been found in the 2nd zone of Parmian limestone, otherwise also designated after Neoschwagerina craticulifera.Downloads
