Greenschists from Kranjska Reber
Abstract
The low grade metamorphic rocks of Kranjska Reber Mt. have been derived from volcanic rocks of spilite-keratophyre association and some sedimentary rocks. The metamorphism took place under the P, T environment corresponding to the very beginning of the greenschist facies, that is to the quartz-albite-muscovite-chlorite subfacies. Critical minerals occurring in different associations are stilpnomelane and tremolite. They indicate Alpine metamorphism, if the rock sequence as supposed by geologists is of Middle Triassic age.Downloads
