General dip of the strata is estimated at approximately 30°W. An angular unconformity separates Anisian and Ladinian strata while the boundary between Ladinian and Carnian (Cordevolian) strata is concordant. Rocks originated in the area of transitional zone between Dinaric carbonate platform and Slovenian basin. Detailed geological mapping and sedimentological analysis of three representative cross-sections have shown that sedimentation took place at the edge of the carbonate platform with only a minor influence of pelagic sedimentation from the basin.
