Abstract

In the paper irregular sea urchins from the Scutellidae family found in Oligocene beds of Češnjica near Poljšica are described. Owing to unfavorable position of both specimens that overlap in the rock the specific names could not be established. They indubitably belong to the same species. The find is important owing to relatively rare well preserved seaurchins in Oligocene in Slovenia, and because they represent the first find of Oligocene Scutellid sea-urchins.
