Abstract

Peridotite nodules in alkali basaltic tuff and tuffite intercalated in Late Pliocene sediments of limnic origin occur in the Grad area of Prekmurje, and represent regarding the present chemically zoned model for the Earth structure its upper mantle fragments. Chemical and mineral compositions for a peridotite nodule and an alkali basalt fragment are given. By X-ray powder diffraction method in the alkali basaltic tuff the mineral association chabazite, phillipsite, analcime, Ca-montmorillonite, thenardite, and gypsum together with inherited volcanic minerals was determined, indicating diagenetic mineral facies.
